Monster hunting on Google’s 8-bit maps

As an early April Fool’s Google has released a version of Google Maps that is straight out of an 8-bit RPG adventure on the Nintendo. Just hit the quest button in the top right to access the adventure.

As experienced 8-bit RPGers know it’s not always safe exploring the map. You may encounter monsters. Try checking out the following coordinates.

I’m not sure if these two are monsters – some other tricky encounter?

My favourite, though, is the very centre of the world. For this to work start at 00.000000,000.000000 and zoom in. Use the bar on the side rather than sliding your mouse wheel as its easier to stay on target. As you approach the last-but-one you should see something. Then scroll in one more time.
