Traveller 5 has, at the time of this post, a full 27 days to go to collect its goal of $24,000 on Kickstarter. No surprises here – but Traveller 5 will become another runaway RPG success on the crowdsourcing platform.
As I write this introduction, the game has 305 backers and is fast approaching $41,000 in promised funds. 8 out of 8 slots in the $950 pledge, the highest, have gone.
The new edition is being brought to us by Marc Miller and his Far Future Enterprises. It was Miller who created Traveller some 35 years ago, in 1977, back when fantasy RPGs were only a few years old.
I thought the video had an interesting selection for its artwork. I suppose the bare-bones approach keeps the sci-fi RPG close to its roots.
