A 272 paged collection of art from the Judge Dredd comic book series will be available in September. The Art of Judge Dredd has an introduction from Dredd’s co-creator John Wagner.
Art from the 2000 AD archive to make the publication includes work from Mick McMahon, Brian Bolland, Greg Staples, Cam Kennedy, Steve Dillon and Carlos Ezqueera. There will also be a highly collectable, very limited (200 copies) alternative cover, alternative binding, no cover version that will only be available via 2000 AD’s online shop. Amazon is taking pre-orders for the main edition.
Geek Native has permission to show what some of the interior art will be like. The preview reveals not just cover art but comments from the artists themselves. For example, for “PROG 204 // The Alien Way!” by Mike McMahon, Jock says;
Probably my favourite Dredd cover of all. Mick delivers here in spades.”
That’s a cover that dates back to March 1981. The Art of Judge Dredd reaches back 35 years in total.
