It’ll come as little surprise to many gamers to discover that Monte Cook’s Numenera Kickstarter (pledge) stormed through its funding goals. At the time of posting the project has nearly $75,000 in backing, 900 backers and 36 days to go.
Cook has been sharing more teasers and adding stretch goals. The picture above is from Kieran Yanner and a concept piece. Attention is directed to the ruins in the far background.
The stretch goals for the new RPG are interesting. If $100,000 is raised than 300 copies of the print be made free to educators and libraries. What do you think about that approach? Do you think 300 libraries will step forward? Could this be a way for school clubs to get copies? Will any of the 300 leave the US?
Another big goal is the new $120,000 reward. If the project hits that level than a 96-page Ninth World Bestiary will be added – but only for those at the Ultimate eBook Fan level ($50) in PDF format. The print edition goes to $200 or higher backers. It’s assumed that, if made, the bestiary will be available for sale for everyone else.
