Windows 8 is creating debate among the gaming community. Valve are worried about the prospect of a Windows 8 store being an alternative and a pain in the butt for Steam. Others worry whether the shift Windows 8 represents is pro or anti-gaming.
Microsoft, though, have been busy stressing that there will be great interaction between Windows 8 and Xbox. In particular, we’re expecting good Xbox Live connectivity with the new OS.
The Windows 8 Xbox Games app will be preinstalled and available from the Windows 8 Store. It’ll bring with it Xbox Achievements, the leaderboards, multiplayer modes and connecting with friends. Microsoft have just confirmed 40 titles in their “first wave” of their portfolio.
