Breaking newsYou don’t have to wait for Echoes from the Wyrd’s monthly round up of RPG and related news stories that caught our attention. GameWyrd does more than simply keep up to date with daily RPG news, here in the The Observatory we actively monitor breaking news around the internet. The Observatory works in two ways. GameWyrd’s code automatically brings in headlines from around the web, translating <xml> into <php> and finally into <html> so you can read it. You can see Gaming Report’s headlines here. We also do it the easy way too, taking full advantage of popular news sites own ticker code. The example on the left is from ENWorld’s new service. In fact, popular news sites make it so easy to install scripts like the one on the left GameWyrd’s put together this code to show you how to have a real time news feed on your Windows desktop. The example also contains links to some rather cool looking Hellboy wallpaper. You can read the example here. |
