Ride the Riddles
Ride the Riddles is a collection of original and classic riddles. You guessed, huh? If you want to ride the riddles then you’ll want to have a bash at guessing the answers to randomly selected questions. On the other hand if you’re a busy GM and need to grab a riddle for your game then you can get straight to the lists of riddles and their answers. In either case you’ll be able to vote highly for good roleplaying riddles and vote lowly for badly spelt and unconvincing riddles. GameWyrd’s Wyrdlings are our quality control.
If you have a natural flare for answering riddles then perhaps you’re riddle index is among the best. Answering riddles correctly will only take your riddle index so far, the best way to boost your index score is to submit highly rated riddles.
Competition!
To launch GameWyrd’s Ride the Riddles we’re having a competition and giving away a Playstation 2 game! If you fancy a copy of Rachet & Clank and happen to live in either the USA or Canada then this is the competition for you!
To win all you have to do is enter your name and address here and start submitting riddles.
The good news is that every time you submit a riddle you have an extra chance of winning the game and you only need to enter your name and address once. The bad news is that we have a judge lined up (not the site’s voting system) to check the riddles and if the judge doesn’t think your riddle is good enough then you can’t win. The judge will disqualify all badly written riddles. The competition winner will be announced after April the 10th and will be a Wyrdling who’s entered their name and address, at least one riddle and been approved by the judge. Got it? Go!
Review Index & Product Details
GameWyrd’s been crazy busy with RPG Reviews in recent weeks. There are now over 200 reviews in the database. To make things easier the Wyrdmaster has introduced a new indexing system – a novel invention known as a calendar! As always you can go here to preview the six most recent reviews. You can now make use of the menu bar found at the top of pages like this one to check out lists of reviews for any given month. The hope is that this is more manageable than a single list of 200+ reviews and faster than the search system. You can still search through reviews or link it from the WyrdRanks. An interesting URL is: www.gamewyrd.com/review/thismonth.php since that’ll always take you to this month’s reviews.
You’ll notice that the product links at the top right and bottom of the review page leads to a new destination. Okay. Okay. So it’s a bit cramped at the minute but gives you the choice to shop elsewhere than Amazon. This is phase one. In phase two those links will be tidied up and GameWyrd will introduce a database of RPG authors and book details (page count, binding, writers, etc) which will display on the page. We hope that this will be a valuable service. Please do remember to buy your books via GameWyrd since the extra pennies you generate go towards running costs.
GameWyrd Winners!
The online RPG community Silver Crossings is this month’s winner of GameWyrd’s Mark of Approval. The good looking site provides easy access to a host of RPG chatrooms. The Wyrdmaster is pleased to see another RPG site that uses plenty of home grown code!
If you have a website that’s good enough or know of one then submit it to the approval committee here.
Wyrdling Sask as broken all previous records and amassed a huge tally of 15 sets of loot from the treasure chest game. He’s the clear winner of February’s prize “Blood on White Petals”.
