A father in China has taken unusal steps to try and stop his son from gaming. His son, now 23 year-old, played computer games excessively while at school and left with terrible grades. The gamer son, Xiao Feng, is now unable to hold down a job, leaving a software development company after just three months. The son claims he’s just not found a job he likes yet.
Mr Feng’s solution was usual but the jury is out as to whether it was effective.
Feng senior hired in-game hitmen to go after his son. His son considered himself a bit of an expert at online roleplaying games but struggled after he constantly being tracked down by higher level players. It’s not clear where the father found these assassins but he was hoping his son would get bored of playing.
Xia Feng is now fed up of death but still defiant. He told press;
“I can play or I can not play, it doesn’t bother me. I’m not looking for any job—I want to take some time to find one that suits me.”
It’s not known whether Feng senior has called the hitmen off.
