Have you seen Life of Pi? The film by Ang Lee has some amazing special effects and tells a story that asks questions about life, death, religion and nature.
The Making of Life of Pi is a hardcover from Jean-Christophe Castelli. Castelli has worked for companies like Vanity Fair and Esquire before he started to work in film. The Making of Life of Pi: A Film, A Journey also has a foreward from Yann Martel, who write Life of Pi and an introduction from Ang Lee.
The book is a behind-the-scenes look at the makinfg of the film. This is a wonderful prize if you’re interested in filmmaking in anyway. It also contains wonderful facts; like the 16-year-old Suraj Sharma who played Pi didn’t know how to swim and performed his own stunts. The movie makers also worked with real-life shipwreck survivor Steven Callahan to make sure the tools Pi made would be authentic.
