It’s past midnight here in the UK and so Geek & Sundry’s International TableTop Day starts. Europe joins the ranks of Asian and Aussie gamers who’ve been tweeting for hours and turns to watch the US and Canada as they wait to join us.
There are lots of great deals on today. Local stores are running specials and there’s great sales online like the TableTop Day sale at DriveThru RPG which has more than 20 products in a bundle for free.
Today, though, isn’t just about jumping on the sales. Today is about supporting the industry, supporting the hobby and being an active gamer. With that in mind why not take the time to peek at a few roleplaying game Kickstarters? You might be the person who makes it possible for the next great RPG happen.
There’s always plenty of RPG action on Kickstarter but here are five suggestions for today.
1: Freeport for Pathfinder
Green Ronin boss Chris Pramas came to Geek & Sundry to GM for Wil Wheaton and friends. Today his Kickstarter for a deluxe version of his pirate-meets-Lovecraft city Freeport to the popular Pathfinder is about to close. They’re nearly there with the pledges. Nearly. You could decide whether the project succeeds or not.

2: Kalijor: The Role Playing Game
Paul Lell is the author of the sci-fi series The Keys of Kalijor and this Kickstarter is to launch Kalijor aas an RPG. It’s the “Grow With Me RPG” system that earns Kalijor a slot in this list as it’s a new gaming engine designed to let children play from a young age, getting more complex over time. This is a great way to teach children decision making abilities and how to cooperate with others.

3: Obsidian Portal Reforged
Obsidian Portal is a popular RPG tool with a very strong community. It’s a tool that lets gamers coordinate their games; keeping track of the adventure, the locations, what characters have as equipment and that sort of book keeping. This Kickstarter is designed to help Obsidian Portal reskin and improve the user experience.

4: Dimensions Pen & Paper Role-Playing System
The goal of Dimensions is to provide a system that’ll fit almost any setting; a universal RPG. The Kickstarter is to raise money for art, colour and to make this a book for the coffee table. I like the pitch; made by gamers, for gamers and hopefully funded by gamers.

5: CORPS
CORPs stands for the Complete Omniversal Role Playing System and was originally made by BTRC. It’s been one of those indie RPG jewels that too few know about. This Kickstarter by Ian Liddle looks to produce a third edition of the game. The hardcopy version of the game will only be available to people who supported the Kickstarter.
