Mark Rein-Hagen co-founded the RPG publisher White Wolf and created iconic games like Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse. His next game might be Succubus: The Reborn if this Kickstarter is successful.
This game is very different from the storyteller RPGs. This is a card game in which players, working in groups but trying to become the team captain, try and build poker hands. They’re vampires part of four great Lineages (the teams).
The Kickstarter video doesn’t dwell on where the name “Succubus” comes from but the game does involve a number of rounds where players have to try and trade for cards. If you want to dress up and play the LARP style of the game then Make-Believe games, the publisher, encourages this.
The Kickstarter is to fund art for the cards and pay for printing. The art below is the $18k stretch goal for the back of card design.
The rules are free. Make-Believe games gives them away via from the Kickstarter page and are included below as an archive.
