Broken Tower have released Shattered Moon Ogre Pledged and Devout as a supplement for their new Shattered Moon setting.
Ogres are protectors of nature but for some of them the calling is beyond the natural. The supplement has details of teh Pledged and Devout racial vocations for ogres, three templates with avatar record sheets and three new assea waves in the form of Elemental weapon, Nature’s wrath and Patient X.
Geek Native has permission to share a section from the Disease pledge template tactics.
Disease Pledge (Flu)
Template tactics
Friend or foe, it’s hard to tell with the flu pledged. Young when the Fall occurred, the flu pledged has retained much of his adolescent impulses as well as a disregard for social norms.
He can be generous and protective of those he considers friends, but he is a difficult friend to have, often causing trouble that can quickly lead to danger. He is boisterous and prone to snap decisions, but not overly stubborn and can be persuaded against a course of action if a good enough reason is provided.
The flu pledge does not feel he should work or support a community, he is more interested in having fun and remaining free to do what he wants. He has taken to using his abilities and pledged focus to exact blackmail from victims he threatens to infect. With so little medical treatment available, the common flu is as much of a killer as a ravaging lilim.
Combat
The flu pledge knows he is no warrior and while he displays a hard and intimidating exterior he is not capable of backing up any physical threats or intimidation and therefore relies on his abilities.
At the first sign of combat he engages his assea armour ability or weave and use dirty fighting in an attempt to throw an opponent off-guard.
Assea
As an asseath the flu pledge makes the most use of his weaves first and foremost in any situation.
Most of his assea weaves focus on protection or offensive capability as he has found his attempts to blackmail have made him few friends.
He often summons vode both as a defensive strategy (gaining him an ally) and to intimidate any would be adversaries.
The protection ward will be engaged whenever he is forced to remain in one place for an extended period of time. This is his primary mode of defence against hostile weaves that might compromise his low MI.
His dedicated weave Patient X (pg 10) is only used on those who fail to pay his blackmail or to whom he takes an instant dislike to. In spreading the flu he feels a sense of pride and privilege and a childish sense of power.
Abilities
The flu pledge takes any chance to enhance his intimidation value. A corporeth bloodkin can be quite a terrifying sight – and a good reminder of mortality to humans faced with becoming patient X. Sometimes the bloodkin is the actual remains of one of the pledge’s victims and he may even make use of his recall shade ability to ask the corporeth how they died – adding to the theatre of the blackmail attempt.
Magic alarm is engaged whenever the flu pledged rests to protect from revenge attacks.
Threats
The flu pledge is his own worst enemy, making poor judgements and snap decisions where ever he goes. With neither a strong MI or PI he can easily be overwhelmed mentally or physically.
His blackmail activities make many enemies, individual and groups, and he will try to align himself with a strong combat type in order to gain physical protection.
