This is a Kickstarter that’s on track to making x2 of its campaign goal within the first day of release. Here was I wondering whether there were any Kickstarters left that could excite the RPG crowd.
Larry Elmore, of course, is famous. He’s the artist behind D&D’s Red Box (and SnarfQuest) as well as many of the iconic fantasy art images gamers have grown up with or are discovering for the first time.
Sovereign Stone was turned into a fantasy trilogy by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. The fame levels just ramp up.
As it turns out the company who’ll bring the new Pathfinder version of Sovereign Stone to market is one that’s better known for success wit the pro-wrestling RPG Wild World Wrestling. The company in question is Timeout Diversions. Timeout is run by Tony Lee and also incluides Killer Thriller, the B-Movie RPG, as one of its games.
Larry Elmore explained in a press release;
“I have known Tony forever and I cannot think of anyone else I would rather work with on Sovereign Stone,”
“There are many more stories to tell in the Sovereign Stone universe. With the help of Kickstarter, we can hopefully finish what I started!”
Tony Lee added;
“Any time you can work with someone of Larry’s stature, you do it,”
“Bringing a fantastic creation like Sovereign Stone to the Pathfinder system will invite even more gaming enthusiasts to discover all the unique personalities, races, history, and stories within this setting. I’m so stoked I can’t wait to see the project unfold!”
What do you think? Another Kickstarter for you this month or are you tapped out?
