Flash back to March and we had news of Lone Wolf and Mongoose splitting up. Details were sparce but “Megadeal” customers were offered credit.
At the time Matthew Sprange noted;
Termination of Mongoose Publishing’s Lone Wolf gamebooks and RPG range has been actioned by mutual consent of the author and the publisher. Contractually, we are unable to publish or discuss the terms of our severance agreement.
Today we find out where Lone Wolf went. Joe Dever has brought the iconic fantasy series to another British publisher; Cubicle 7.
Dever revealed;
I’m really very happy to be working with Cubicle 7, an excellent RPG company which I hold in the highest regard. I’m proud that Lone Wolf is now a part of their prestigious portfolio of games.
It’s expected that Cubicle 7, who also own the rights to Doctor Who and the One Ring RPGs, will produce roleplaying games for the series and detailed coloured maps for the land Magnamund.
Dominic McDowall, CEO at C7, said in a blog post;
“I grew up with Lone Wolf, and so it’s a dream come true to be working with Joe on this classic series. We’ve got some very exciting plans for the Kai and Magnamund, which we’ll be sharing over the coming weeks”
What do you think Lone Wolf fans? Will Cubicle 7 be a good home? What do you hope to see for the RPG?
