The blog network Under Consideration runs a brand blog called Brand New. Yeah; clever name – but you’d expect that from a brand blog. This blog discusses whether brands are successfully portraying their identity through the visual stylisation of their logo and other wanky conversational topics like that.
Whereas I might have some distaste for this old school style of marketing in today’s digital marketing world I do accept that brands take this very seriously. Pepsi famously paid millions for a new logo. The London 2012 Olympics logo was all over the news and even members of the public chipped in.
Anyway; after giving the rebranding of the Guitar Hero logo (from white to black; work done by Pentagram) the Brand New blog gave the new SyFy logo the number seven slot. The peeps at Proud Creative will be proud.
In case you’re wondering Brand New amazingly gave the Wolff Olins’ reworking of AOL the top slot and Bing went home with the biggest looser award.
