Are you a fan of modding? That’s either the creation of new bits of software for your favourite game or simply grabbing someone else’s published creation and adding it to your game. One of the first mods I saw that caught my attention was one that changed zombies to Teletubbies in Left4Dead.
I’ve never applied an unofficial mod to any of my PC games. Why not? Security fears. That’s why the GMOD offering is of interest. It’s a client that is attempting to manage the process.

[Back this Campaign]
At the time of posting there are still 17 days left to support this campaign. It’ll require a surge of interest but the team does now seem to have tapped some PR resources and are reaching out to bloggers so this may happen.
There are questions around how large the “pro modding” community is and their propensity to spend money. Either way the promise of the GMOD client holds firm. An application like this one would open the door to modding to a far larger group of people. It makes sense for modders to back it.
