Fae Nightmares from Dark Smile Games feels like one of those RPG products that would have happened without Kickstarter but will be greatly improved with Kickstarter cash. They’re asking for $8,500 CAD and have raised over $3,000 CAD with three weeks to go. Given that Pinnacle are promoting the Kickstarter themselves I suspect this Savage Worlds game will fund.
This is a Urban Fantasy that blends some celtic fae legends with North American myths and lore. In other words, native American mythology contributes as much to the battle of the fae courts as European stories of red caps, trolls and fairy knights.
Characters are “nightmares”. These are people, humans, who have stumbled into the war between the fae courts one way or another. There’s a total of 4 flexible ‘races’ that fit the nightmare bill and 5 arcane backgrounds.
