Games company Square Enix has a new crowdfunding platform called Collective. Whereas Kickstarter needs you to splash the cash to back a pitch Collective does not. This games specialist site has a feedback phase in which games jostle for consideration. You don’t need to mention any money at this point; you just need to say whether you think the game is good enough to progress. It’s a yes/no button for registered users.
The game I’ve just voted “yes” on is Game of Glens.

This is a pitch from a professional games development house – the type of company that has plenty of console hits to their name. This time they want to make something independently and are proposing something that looks like a cross between Worms, Lemmings and an RTS builder.
Unlike Worms or Lemmings (or even World of Goo) Game of Glens promises to have a strategic depth to it. Sure, it looks like hand drawn art with Goo-like physics but the underlying gameplay has strategy built in.
The demo video focuses a lot on the towers but the full set of gamers is wider – with contests like Punt the Pig and Help Ma Coo.
