Do you hate it when someone else touches your dice? Is it fair when someone grabs one of your d20s, rolls and lands a crit that might have been yours?
Or do you need just a handy, pocket sized, cool looking dice holder?
These photographs are of the prototype for the smallest Cryptex Dice Vaults and come from a Natural 20 Woodcrafts Kickstarter.
It’s a humble Kickstarter project looking for just $2,500. There’s 27 days to go, when this post went live, and another $1,000 to collect. Why does Natural 20 Woodcrafts need the money? To buy tools in order to make the vaults at a better quality.
The bad news is that pledge levels that give you a vault in exchange for your backing are restricted to US shipping only. I suppose this makes sense. If these vaults are made by hand then a rush of orders might well derail everything.
The good news is that there are a range of vaults. For example, if you’re a World of Darkness player and have handfuls of d10s to cart around then there’s a vault designed to hold 10d10 – the Dark World CDV. There’s a letter based vault caleld the Da Vinci.
You’ve a choice of wood, or whether you want to paint up in pride colours or even if you want a display box.
My question: can people set their own combination or are you stuck with the one the vault comes with? With five reels on the vault there’s some 100,000 possible combinations.
