Eric Brown’s first series (Necropath, Xenopath and Cosmopath) started life as Games Workshop books and concluded as Rebellion books. Judge Dredd fans know Rebellion as the publishers of 2000AD.
The key to the deal is the imprint publisher – Solaris.
It was a Games Workshop company when Necropath was published. Games Workshop got rid of it though as part of their cost cutting efforts. Only yesterday we had news that these cost cutting efforts had been so successful that Games Workshop’s profits were going to be £5m higher than expected.
Fortunately for Eric Brown and Necropath fans, Rebellion decided to buy Solaris last September.
Now, fortunately for us, Rebellion has signed Eric for another book deal.
The Guardians of Phoenix series is expected to be a post-apocalyptic novel that features a small group of travellers trying to get to Tangiers in search of water and a spaceship that might have the technology to rebuild the world.
