Wizards of the Coast have updated their press release centre today. The site does not yet mention the new D&D logo. Maybe that will come. Today’s current news is for new entertainment offerings around Tyranny of Dragons.
Tyranny of Dragons is a new module for Cryptic Studios and Perfect World Entertainment’s Dungeons & Dragons MMO. The new module will launch on August 14th, this year.
Jack Emmert, CEO at Cryptic said;
“We’ve had an incredible time being a key part of the Dungeons & Dragons experience,”
“Building Neverwinter has been an outstanding journey for our companies. With the new Tyranny of Dragons module, bothNeverwinter and the larger Dungeons & Dragons franchise will continue to be the most compelling fantasy adventure for players new and old.”
Two tabletop adventures will also be published this year to support Tyranny. The first (August 19) is Hoard of the Dragon Queen and the second (October 21) is The Rise of Tiamat.
WotC have also signed on WizKids to produce a line of D&D miniatures to support these adventures. These new minis will be pre-painted plastic models that feature the iconic heroes and villains from Forgotten Realms.
Nathan Stewart, Brand Director for D&D, said in a press release;
“This is the biggest and most exciting year for Dungeons & Dragons yet,”
“We’re excited to see the last two years of intense collaboration with our trusted partners and dedicated fans finally come to fruition.”
