In a game of Exalted I once played a nearly silent Twilight Caste called “They Key with Jade and Journey”. I had a moleskin notebook with me which I used in two ways. I used it to scribble prompts for my own roleplaying – such as a list of “sages” I could quote in those rare instances the character spoke and I used it to collect in-character notes.
It was a lot of fun. I made especially sure never to let anyone peek at the book. There was a mystery to the character but the moleskin notebook was rather expensive.
Now Think Geek are in on the act. They’ve two notebooks perfect for either in-game use or, as I had, in-theme use that straddled IC and OOC. The Old Leather version is exactly like The Key with Jade and Journey’s notebook but much cheaper. The Metal Latches variant looks awesome.
