Does the official BBC page offer us any insight? Not really. They call Peter Capaldi the Twelfth Doctor, so sticking with the traditional numbering and not going back to start. Jenna-Louise Coleman is called Jenna Coleman, as her recent personal branding has been, and she’s still Clara.
The artwork is marked as TBC. It’s simply the current promo poster for Peter Capaldi with a standard Doctor Who background.
The description reminds us it’s the 23rd of August the Doctor will be back. The series opens with a feature length episode called “Deep Breath”.
We’re also told that this season will star Michelle Gomez (Bad Education, Green Wing) as the Gatekeeper of the Nethersphere, Foxes (Grammy award winning singer/song writer), Frank Skinner (Room 101), Ben Miller (Armstrong and Miller), Tom Riley (Da Vinci’s Demons, Freezing), Keeley Hawes (Line of Duty) and Samuel Anderson (History Boys, Gavin & Stacey) as Danny Pink.
