This blogger isn’t going to GenCon. It’s on the wrong side of the world. If only there was a virtual alternative? There is!
The Anti-GenCon con was set up by Jez Gordon. It’s a chance for those roleplayers who can’t or don’t want to get involved with Gen Con to still meet up, play some games and make some friends. The twist? This is nice and virtual. No travel involved. Just Google+ and those lovely Hangouts.

If starting a new character, make 4 level 0s or 1s from an OSR Game and pick one as leader and 3 as henchmen. Continuing from last session a few weeks ago, but same players not required. Module run pretty straight, occasional stuff from LotFP modules put in to replace boring stuff.

It is May 1642, the King has hoist his standard in Lincoln and issued Commissions of Array, Parliament has passed the Militia Ordinance and are raising an army to defend themselves. But in one soggy corner of south Lincolnshire the locals might be jumping the gun and kicking off the civil war with spot of what appears to be purely local bother. There will be some rules variants, I’ll sort out a players doc with what you need to know, but essentially level 1 LotFP humans only, with gear from the Early Modern appendix to the rulebook, pregens will be available.
