It’s a MOBA without guns. Grimoire puts a spin on the classic online battle by bringing in the wizards. The result? It looks very different…. but maybe it’s just the pointy hats.
These sorts of Kickstarters are always a challenge. There’s the need for money in a competitive but not rich marketplace. There’s the need for Greenlight Votes. That said; OmniConnection’s Grimoire is holding up well.
At the time of writing there are still 29 days on the clock. The target is $42,000 but they’ve raised nearly $11,500. If the cash comes in at this rate then they’ll easily hit target.
If you’re very quick you may still scoop the $10 limited pledge that gives you the early bird game access. You’ll also get an in-game backer sigil next to your name. If you’re too slow then beta access comes at $15.
Grimoire doesn’t feel like a game that won’t appear. It’s been in playable alpha for months and becoming a backer gets you access to these scheduled alpha tests.
The game offers 10 different wizard classes; each of which can be customised with spells to hide from or mess up opponents. The gameplay styles are PvP Conquest, an Arena and a new co-op mode called Safeguard.
If you see elements of DoTa 2 or League of Legends in here I don’t think anyone at the indie OmniConnection would deny it. The game wears its influences openingly.
