With a whole month still to run the comic book Bust has made target. From Dave Cook and Chris O’Toole’s Bust is the story of a card dealer struggling to survive in a diseased world.
The first 12 pages of Bust are already available to the public and you can check them out on the Bust blog.
We’ve featured Dave Cook before on Geek Native with a review of Drifting, a sci-fi the novel he co-wrote with Matthew Drury. Cook apparently likes to keep himself busy.
There’s no word of stretch goals yet but this seems likely. The advantage of knowing this project looks to be a run away success is that you can pick your pledge tier carefully. The £5 pledge is limited to 120 and that’ll earn you a signed print copy. I suspect comic book collectors will be tempted to take a punt on that one. In fact, it seems the promise of a physical copy of the comic was a factor in the Kickstarter’s success.
The limited £20 tier is sold out but there are still £50 pledge levels available which secure a custom sketch and an appearance in the comic itself. Given how dangerous the world has become I wouldn’t hope for a happy end for your character!
