The Arena Mode series from Blake Northcott grew on the author’s hard earned reputation, writing skills and Kickstarter funding. The first novel, Arena Mode, 543% funded and the second, Assault or Attrition, hit 401%. This is the pitch for the third in the series – Final Empire.
The novel includes art from Marvel, DC, Dark Horse and Image illustrators and has a free tabletop RPG in the back. That’s a clever idea, no wonder Mark Millar (Kick-Ass, Wanted) suggested she’d be a game-changer.
In Arena Made, Matthew Moxon has done nothing with his amazingly high IQ and problem solving skills until he finds out he h as a tumor pressing against his brain and he cannot afford the surgery he needs. He joins Arena Mode: 2041 – a battle royale of 13 superheroes in an urban combat zone.
At the time of writing there are 10 days on the clock and over 500 backers. That gives Blake over $27,000 in the pot with a target of $15,000. We’re in stretch goal territory.
Metahumans & Manticores, the tabletop RPG for Arena Mode, has been put together with Caias Ward’s help. The RPG is available at the $10 backer pledge level – this is the first level which unlocks the digital book. $15 for the trilogy.
There are a few $25 limited pledge levels left where you get the ebook, wallpaper and the “Hero Packs”, signed, limited edition of Final Empire and a second book for Metahumans & Manticores plus stretch goals.
