The day after the Autumn Statement – that’s the day the Government messes with the money you have and will need to spend – many of the newspapers are up in arms about this year’s Christmas TV. I guess Xmas telly is even more important than national finances.
As the right-wing Telegraph points out more than half of TV will be repeats this year. In fact, over Christmas there are already more than 650 hours of repeats in the schedule.
That said; it’s Ladbrokes’ research that worries me. Mrs Brown’s Boys, which I can’t stand, is set at 5/4 odds at being the most popular Christmas Day TV show. That compares to Doctor Who which only has 8/1. Here’s the chart as it stands at the time of posting and you can visit the Christmas page for the latest figures. Scroll to the bottom.
Ladbrokes has a similar chart for video games. Call of Duty: Advance Warfare is there at 2/1, with FIFA 15 at 4/6, Destiny at 20/1 and Assassin’s Creed Unity 10/1. Care for a punt?
