Geek Native has launched a store on Redbubble. You can visit right away for a geek karma bonus.
The store will be home to various geeky designs, gamer humour and quirky sayings that you’re not likely to find on mugs, iPhone cases, pillows, bags, hoodies or t-shirts on the shelves of mainstream fashion.
The hope is that the store will help the blog offset the ever-growing hosting costs and readers will find it worthwhile.
Why Redbubble? There’s no shortage of design to t-shirt companies but I’ve always had a fondness for Redbubble. They don’t bug me with spam emails unlike some of their competitors. They feel fun. The artist community is great there.
Geek Native put Redbubble through a test in early 2014 in an experiment to ship pure evil to the UK. The site passed with flying colours. I’m wearing my demonic hoodie as I write this. Plans to get into “merch” have been a while coming and was something mentioned in the aspirations section at Forbidden Planet’s Best of 2014 post.
Redbubble UK is a thing. Redbubble Australia exists as well. Where your item ships from depends on what you order. Buying adult geek clothes from Redbubble from the UK means Redbubble’s UK shipping centre dispatches your order (1 day expedited, 5 days standard). The range isn’t as great for Australia but smartphone cases and prints ship locally.
There’s a few items already in the store but if you’re looking for a place to start why not consider the geeky mascot collection or the Off Duty fashion collection.
