Death Spiral Games are asking for only £2,000 in their Kickstarter for sci-fi action RPG Sleeper: Orphans of the Cold War. They’ve a full 27 days on the clock, at the time of writing, over £500 in bank already and more than 20 backers. It’s looking good. You can check the latest details on their Kickstarter page.
A £3 pledge gets you a copy of the supporting novella and your name appears in the main rules and just £8 you get PDFs of the core Sleeper rule book and novella. As of date, no one has gone for the £8 option as the £31 pledge tier which unlocks the physical books is collecting all the interest. That includes shipping for the UK and requires additional cost for elsewhere. Looking at the details it seems that extra cost is just £3. I hoe Death Spiral Games can cope with that.
The game is due to launch at the UK Games Expo and with a bit of luck they’ll get enough spotlight there to hit the ground running.
Death Spiral Games looks to have some pretty important talent. There’s Tony Porrett who is a professional project manager and his skill set cannot be underestimated. Meanwhile Ben Counter already has RPG credits to his name; including Warhammer 40K, Warhammer FRP and World of Darkness games. There are five game designers and an artist on the team. This isn’t a one man in his bedroom show.
