Stopped getting the Geek Native newsletter? You may need to re-subscribe or check your spam folder.
At the end of 2014, Geek Native started a newsletter digest. It’s a way to keep a tab of the site without RSS feeds, fight with Facebook’s filter or remember to check the web every day.
If you’re not an evil robot hell-bent on some sort of spam mission then the newsletter is great. Sign up below!
Oh yes, those evil robots. The newsletter has had a rush of dodgy / unlikely email addresses not only signing up but also confirming their subscription. The problem with that is our web hosts have been busy sending emails to too many addresses that are wrong, weird or wacko. Worse; the wrong people might have been annoyed by them.
To fight back against the evil robots we’ve made the following changes;
- Tweaked MailPoet
- Moved to SendGrid for delivery
- Deleted 100+ subscribers who have confirmed but never opened an email
Changes to email mean that if you had successfully received the email newsletter in the past you might not be getting it now. If that’s the case check your spam filter and if you find it – mark the email as “not spam” and add [email protected]
it to your whitelist.
This is just the first purge. Next month it will be necessary to delete anyone who subscribed in January and who is yet to open a newsletter.
