Darkraven Games‘s Cthulhu Fantasy and Horror music soundscape bundle asked for $12,000 in Kickstarter backing. They’ve crossed that line today and have over a week for any stretch goals. There’s loads of music samples on their Kickstarter page so it’s worth checking out if you’re tempted.
Pledge levels with rewards start as low as $15 but you just get a random track from each of the packs as a bonus. I imagine many GMs will want to pick. Stepping up to $24 gets you a complete pack of soundscapes from the core set. $29 gets you the original Cthulhu add-on and Cthulhu 2.
To be honest, I’m scratching my head a little at what comes in each bundle. I suspect my lack of familiarity may be acting against me. However, the broad prinicple is clear – pledge goes in; music comes out. What’s making this Kickstarter successful is the quality of the music. The mysterious Joshua is the man to be thanked for that.
Deep in the guts of the campaign page we get to find out a little more about Joshua. He is Joshua Cohen, a graduate from the Berklee College of Music with a minor in Interactive Video Game Scoring. He’s worked as an assistant to Hollywood composer Mario Grigorov.
