Acheson Creations have a tabletop model success on their hands as a Kickstarter for highly-detailed 28mm dungeon titles surges past funding goal with two weeks still to go. For more details check out the Kickstarter page.
The team are asking for $3,800. At the time of writing they’ve $10,069 and 15 days still to collect funds.
I suspect part of the attraction is the low entry point. A backing of just $5 gets you 4 unpainted, hand-cast, urethane plastic 2×2 inch tiles. Only 1 backer has gone for that, I know, but I think it lures people in. Amazingly, after that pledge, much of the action is in the high end tiers – many of which are limited in number. The $100 “basic dungeon” is popular. There are only two spaces in the $200 tier and at this rate the $400 level, which delivers a veritable dungeon, might sell out.
Acheson Creations have labelled this Dungeon Worlds part 1. I don’t think we should be surprised to see Dungeon Worlds part 2 unless there’s some serious fulfilment issues.
