Masks of Nyarathotep has long been considered a classic Call of Cthulhu supplement. I’ve not tried it but I’m told running the game is a challenge. There are many NPCs, plenty of locations, cultists and one angry Outer God.
The Companion is Sixtystone Press‘s proposed solution. It seems they’re right as the Kickstarter asked for £6,000, still has three weeks to run and has raised over £22,000. Full details are here on Kickstarter.
Stepping up to a pledge of £15 gets you a PDF copy of the Black Pharaoh edition which will be delivered via DriveThruRPG. As soon as your payment card as been accepted by Kickstarter you’ll get a PDF copy of v0.9.
Boost your pledge to £30 or beyond and you hit paper. The softback Black Pharaoh edition comes first, along with that nice v0.9 PDF once your payment goes through. It’s too late to go for the top tier, the 50 limited £65 pledge, as they’ve sold out.
If you hangout at Yog-sothoth you may well gave seen v0.9 for proofing but that copy is no longer available.
Stretch goals that have been unlocked so far inlcude G.Roby’s Chapter Clue Sheets, Ben Patey dustcovers of Jackson Elias’s books, “The Burning Heart” scenario and an article about the USMC Leathernecks posted to China Station in Shanghai. “Dark Mistress” is about to unlock which means Sixtystone will start to add more goals.
