Google’s put their April Fools joke live for their mobile alternative reality game live. Ingress players have their cursor turned into Pac-man and portals are now ghosts. This shouldn’t muck up gameplay too much but it’s certainly going to confuse players who forget what day it is.
In Ingress there are two sides who complete for control of portals. The green team (who have portals that now look like green ghosts) are the Enlightened who believe the world can be better. They’re the dreamers, creators and latteral thinkers. The Enlightened are hopeful that the mysterious “Makers Shapers” might be able to help mankind improve itself. The Enlightened’s dreams of a better world are opposed by the Resistance, who are cautious and skeptical (and who now have blue ghost portals). The Resistance are led by a dangerous Artifical Intelligence and are siding with a new alien force, the N’Zeer, who seem to oppose the “Makers”.
