Are these dice balanced? The short answer seems to be: “good enough for your gaming needs”. The exact phrase the PolyHero Dice team use is;
If you want a guarantee of high precision and statistical clarity while you lop off a Troglodyte’s head then these dice aren’t for you. But if you just like fun and different dice for whatever reason, and don’t care if you roll an extra 20 every 1,000 rolls then we’d love to raise a flagon together and share our dice with you.
A backing of $25 will get you one set of 7 dice in crimson with white ink or black with green ink. You just have to go up to $45 and you’ll get one of each. There are a few other tiers before you hit $79 and unlock 4 sets of PolyHero Dice (that’s 28) and a copy of Knight Fight.
These dice, I think, are just the beginning. The role of 3D printing here is clear – it helped test and design this set. What could we expect in the future? If PolyHero manage to push these dice out without hiccup, and they seem well prepared, then I imagine we’ll see more.
