The original plan for Modiphius’ forthcoming Conan RPG was to have Brom illustrate the front cover. Unfortunately, the iconic artist’s schedule couldn’t cope.
Modiphius have been working with other Conan Properties licensing partners in conjunction with the project since then, including Monolith Board Games, the team behind the Conan boardgame, and Funcom who run the free-to-play Age of Conan MMO.
Somewhere along the line delays have crept in. This is good news for Brom fans as it means the schedules lined up. The game now has a Brom front cover.
All the content for the game is being approved by Robert E. Howard expert, and gamer, Jeff Shanks. In a press release he noted;
This game captures that essence like no other Conan product has in the 80 years since Howard’s death and I am proud to be a part of it.
The game has an A-list of artists working on it; including Sanjulian, Mark Schultz, Tim Truman, Tomas Giorello, Esteban Maroto and Alex Horley. It’s believed that Brom’s new front cover replaces one illustrated by Sanjulian.
Modiphius is encouraging email sign-ups for gamers wanting to keep up to date with news on the delayed title. Kickstarters are planed to support a range of supplements and accessories for the game after launch.
