Conventions and eSports are big business. GAME’s Insomnia brand is the UK’s largest festival of gaming and it’s growing. The company has announced they’re now selling tickets for their first Insomnia Scotland.
The festival will run from the 29th of April to the 2nd of May. The Exhibition Hall will include a number of zones; including a Minecraft Zone and an Indie Zone designed as a chance to see some fresh talent.
As you’d expect there’s going to be Retail Zone that’ll consist of popular merchandise and swag.
Scotland is chock full of gaming companies – not just Rockstar North, the talent behind Grand Theft Auto – and so it’s pleasing to see the computer game scene growing out of London.
Craig Fletcher, Founder and CEO of Multiplay, told press;
We’re excited to see Scottish gamers heading to Insomnia Scotland,”
“With every passing Insomnia festival in England we’ve implemented elements to broaden the activities and entertainment available, so we’re delighted to be bringing the Insomnia experience to a new audience in Scotland. Being our first Insomnia event in Scotland, we are anticipating a sell out crowd, as gamers in the region get to experience what Insomnia has to offer.”
Marshall Dallas, the CEO of the EICC, which will host the event, is bullish on the numbers. He noted;
We’re very excited to be the host venue for Scotland’s first Insomnia Gaming Festival which will bring over 10,000 visitors to the city,”
