With a base in Burgdorf in Switzerland, the clever Heldentaufe is back on Kickstarter. The game is after 34, 000 Swiss FR to fun and has about 28,000 CHF in the pot with two weeks left to run. You can keep track of progress at the campaign page.

[Back the Campaign]
The video looks very good, sleek and professional. It’s hard to believe the first Heldentaufe campaign was cancelled but the new version brings an increased player count and a streamlined game so it may be for the best.
Heldentaufe is a game of two halves; the tile building first half of exploration and resource management and the dangers of the underworld in the second.
A pint-and-play version of the game is available to CHF 12 backers – that’s about US$12.50. Stepup to 39 CHF (about US$40), plus shipping, and you’ll get a physical copy of Heldentaufe.
The Bearded Meeple has a good, 8 minute long, look at the game complete with review. I think it paints a very positive picture.
I’m especially fond on the tile building start to the game and the exploration for resources and upgrades. It reminds me of Minecraft, oddly.
I also think the teeth and health mechanic for the monsters is a great idea.
The English language rule book is currently free to download but the layout is yet to be done.
