The new UK-based publisher Shrike Studio is doing the sensible thing of putting their first RPG, which is nearly finished, up on Kickstarter for the final push. The science fantasy game is asking for £5,000 in funding and with 25 days, at the time of writing, to go has nearly £2,000 in the bank. You can track the progress on Kickstarter.

Set millions of years in the future and at a time where humans have either transformed to suit the planets they’ve ended up on or have transformed the planets to suit them, Emissary is called a science fantasy game by Shrike Studios. It might also be called a transhuman.
A crisp tenner (£10) unlocks the PDF copy and if you step up to £30 you’ll get the physical colour copy.
Great art doesn’t always ensure a great RPG. However, great art certainly helps and its a common, strong, reason to go to Kickstarter. That’s exactly what J.D. Reittu and school teacher Edward Little are doing. I think the art they put on show is fantastic and good enough to earn Emissary a write-up at Geek Native.
The game has PCs as powerful characters; a sort of Intergalactic problem sorting squad with the responsiblity for maintaining peace and civilisation. Yeah, that might be a little like Mindjammer, but the Shrike Studio RPG leans towards fantasy rather than Mindjammer’s sci-fi edge.
