Sandy Petersen and son are back with more Cthulhu RPG material. This time the Kickstarter is in search of $10,000 to convert the mythos into something suitable for high fantasy and the Pathfinder RPG. Yup; this means playable races. The project has easily beaten that $10,000 goal and, at the time of writing, is well beond $50,000.

[Back this Campaign]
The new book offers up 100 entries, half of which haven’t been seen in a Pathfinder book before. 25 of the entries are from Betiaries I to V which have been updated and combiled for this book. There’s 40 “Unusual Suspets”, creatures that could be in the Cthulhu mythos which are currently found in the Bestiaries collection and have been updated for here, and over 50 new Mythos entries.
Backing at $15 gets a PDF of the book while stepping up to $35 gets you the full colour hardcover copy (or an adventure kit).
Associated with this Kickstarter is a range of fully assembled and unpainted miniatures. The strange purple head is the old one Hastur. Other cosmic horrors available in the project for $70 are Yog-Sothoth, Nyarlathotep, King in Yellow, Chaugnar Faugn, Greater Wendigo, Fire Vampire, Gnoph-Keh, Nyogtha while the Shadows of Space set, $35, include the likes of Azathoth, Haunting Horrors, Servitor of the Outher Gods and Dimensional Shamblers.
I’m not sure if it can feel entirely Cthulhu in a high fantasy setting and I’m not a big fan of miniatures but I have to admit some of these sets look a whole lot of deadly fun.
