I’m in the market for wall art. I moved flat over the Christmas holiday, now have a wall beside my computer and enough space to hang three geeky prints.
It’s been quite a challenge. I want the three prints to be complementary but also want to reflect a wide range of geekiness; fantasy, sci-fi and perhaps either anime, horror, steampunk or a sub-niche.
I suspect I’ll end up waiting until I experience a “Wow! That’s awesome” as I rummage around sites like Society6.com, InPrnt or even Redbubble rather than buying just for the sake of filling the space.
I need to be careful. There are other places to get good geek art from. Tostadora is one. As it happens, they’re fairly new to the wall art range, offer up both framed prints and canvas pieces and (at the time posting) have a sale on.

I went for something else and went for a print called Ghibli Elemental Charms. It’s cute and might remind you of a certain anime.
There’s a lot right with this print and Tostadora’s offer. I was most worried about shipping. Why? Only the week before I’d had an awful time trying to get some plastic frames for posters sent to me without arriving scratched, scuffed and snapped. No such problem with Tostadora. The packaging is sensible and robust. The frame printed arrived in good order.
The quality is also spot on. Colours are strong, lines are clear and there are no splodges or skip marks. The frame itself feels robust and can be hung portrait or landscape.
The only issue I had with my framed print is that it’s smaller than I expected. It’s so small that I had to put it in the corner, by my computer desk, instead on the wall I intended it to go. Quickie smartphone picture shared below to reveal a little of the size and real-life quality.
Overall? Despite being disappointed by the size I think the framed print from Tostadora can’t be faulted. Good quality at competitive prices.
Tostadora doesn’t quite yet have the library of wall art images that some of the bigger competitors have. A good deal of what the site does have was designed as t-shirt art in the first instance. The result is that the range doesn’t yet stack up but I’ve a good feeling about the site and I think it’ll grow.
