There’s always lots of internet discussion when a popular superhero changes their costume. There’s been some real progression in recent years. I think the 2014 Batgirl costume was a good one. There’s been the occasional Star Sapphire costume, though, that’s not been as well received.
But what about the clothes heroes wear while there either off duty or in disguise? The Sunglass Warehouse have put together showing the 1980s to 2010s evolution. As you’d expect they pay attention to how the glasses of the off duty heroes change.
My favourite is Wolverine. I think his costume has changed in the last 30 years as much as mine has. After that, I think Tony Stark faces the most dramatic change; poshing up rather than down which seems like an exception to many.
No female superheroes in the infographic? I suppose that’s a shame but, then again, perhaps its a good thing we’re not talking about fashion as the only relatable female interest in the genre.
