Shintiara is a fantasy world caught between two stars. On of the stars has collapsed into a black hole and is dragging the planet slowly towards it. The result? Weird time effects. Past and future technologies and other hazards are now active in the world.
Shintiara RPG: A World of Magic and Time Paradoxes will be available in either Italian or English. You pick. The Kickstarter video moves to Italian where you can listen to creator Giovanni Pola and you can turn subtitles on for the translation. You can see the campaign page here.
The Kickstarter wanted €5,00 and with 28 days still to go now has nearly €6,000 pledged.
It would be too easy to dismiss Shintiara as another fantasy RPG. Dig a little under the skin and it feels different. Caught between a star and a black hole it might vanish any day and, in fact, the system uses that time as a mechanic. These are adventures on the Event Horizon.
The pledge tiers are fairly straight forward; €15 for the PDF (that’s all 300 pages of the manual in full colour), step up to €35 and you’ll get the softback added and for only €48 you’ll get the hardback.
Shintiara could be dark and gloomy. I imagine some people will play it that way but the art is strong, bold and colourful.
