The game will use 5th edition rules of the world’s most popular RPG. That’s legal speak for Dungeons & Dragons. The Lost Citadel’s corebook adds a further 278 (at least) pages to bring the dark fantasy to life in full colour. This is a world where some of the traditional fantasy races are stuck in a giant dwarven citadel while the undead control every square metre outside.
A pledge of some $25 gets you the PDF of the RPG or a print copy of the Lost Citadel anthology. You see, the series is a transmedia project; it is intended to extend across multiple formats and expressions. To get a print edition of the game you need to step up to $59. The limited edition includes the novel and stretch goals and is tempting at $113. If that sells out; the next tier is just $118.
The writing team includes C.A. Suleimen, Ari Marmell and Jaym Gates along with Keith Baker, Jess Hartley, Jesse Heining, Natania Barron, Malcolm Sheppard and Khaldoun Khelil.
At the time of writing there are still 5 days to join the project.
