Last year CMON, once known as Cool Mini or Not, pushed past $17m in revenue. How? Kickstarter and loyal fans. They’re really good at it.
It’s perhaps not a surprise that their 2016 Kickstarter for Massive Darkness was a huge hit. Over 22,000 backers and incredible $3.5 million raised! The core box will set you back $120 and offer up 75 plastic minis, 280 cards, nine double-sided game tiles and 12 custom dice. The game is a huge dungeon crawl and it doesn’t need a GM.
Except there’s too much darkness in Massive Darkness. The symbols on the dice used on some of the monster and hero cards can’t be read.
CMON know there’s a problem. They’ll be issue packs of replacement cards to backers. They said;
It would seem the factory ended up printing the coloured symbol on top of the solid black colour, so it became very hard to make out properly,
All that remains to be seen is when the new cards will be issued. In the meantime backers can access PDF copies.
