This polymer clay sculpt in the first video from a new YouTube channel called The Dream Syndicate. The channel offers a chance to watch the crafting process of fantasy creatures and dabble with stop-motion.
We just get the dragon’s head in this video. It’s part one of a series called St. George and the Dragon, a mixed media piece, which we can see from the introduction has already progressed quite far. This gives me confidence that we’ll see the whole dragon come together, piece by piece, over future videos.
I’m no crafter. I lack all the skills. The clay like substance used for the dragon confused me. It wasn’t clay as I imagined, not something you’d make a pot out of and it wasn’t drying. A quick check on Hobbycraft suggests something ike Premo Sculpey clay or Fimo is possible. It doesn’t seem too expensive so perhaps the St. George and the Dragon will inspire others to try their hand.
