A brave trailer! Even if you know the main Tokyo Ghoul anime and recognise that horrible chair then you still won’t see much else in this trailer. Don’t worry; we’ve some better screenshots from the game at the end of this post.
Bandai Namco and Three Rings are putting this on and offline survival horror out for the PC and the PlayStation 4.
The game, in which you can battle your friends (eat or be eaten) will feature characters from Tokyo Ghoul, Tokyo Ghoul √A and Tokyo Ghoul: re which is all well and good but if, like me, you’re watching the series on Netflix UK these spin-offs aren’t readily available to view. That said, you can buy the manga from Amazon.
In the series ghouls (for a while) hid among humankind and ate flesh to survive. It’s a grim show as some of the ghouls are standup people if it wasn’t for this need to feed and horrible things happen to them thanks to the less pleasant ghouls. That’s not even going into the humans who know what’s going on, the Investigators, who hunt, stalk, kill and sometimes be killed by the ghouls.
The most powerful ghouls develop these supernatural and neon coloured weapons that grow out of their bodies during a melee. The weapons are some sort of reflection of a ghoul’s inner trauma or personality. Hence some of the blur effects in the trailer video.
