It feels like we’ve only just covered Greg Saunders’ Summerland RPG Kickstarter. In truth; that was in March. My copy is in the post. Now Saunders is back with the occult RPG Esoterica on Kickstarter.

The campaign is only asking for £4,000 and with 27 days on the clock already has £1,200 in the bank. This writer is tempted to go hardcover with a pledge, too.
The pledge structure is straightforward; £10 for the PDF and stretch goals, £20 for the PDF and softback where you pay for the print at cost or £20 for the PDF and the hardback where you pay for the print at cost. Nice to see someone not trying to gorge a penny or two on the hardback.
If you’re so impressed by what you’ve seen here the pledge tiers above this let you order Exilium (a previous RPG), Summerland and Esoterica in a bundle.
A core pitch to Esoterica is that the mechanics create story and conflict. Adepts need Soul Jars to succeed, and this will put them into competition with other Adepts.
I’ve also seen a lot of love for the Open D6 system that Esoterica uses. Some gamers describe Open D6 as ‘relatively rules light’.
