You can now buy Vampire: The Masquerade from select retailers. It’s Gen Con, and White Wolf has just released the 5th edition of the iconic game. If you need the game now you can visit World of Darkness.com or in physical form exclusively from Modiphius Entertainment.
Modiphius is acting as the distributor, I don’t believe the relationship to be an exclusive retail one, and so I would imagine Modiphius will distribute to local retailers. At the time of writing, Vampire: The Masquerade 5th edition is not available on Amazon or at the Storyteller’s Vault. If those two retailers are missing from Vampire 5e’s release, then White Wolf may find themselves flirting with controversy again.
White Wolf CEO Tobias Sjögren told press;
With the launch of V5, today marks an incredible milestone in the history of Vampire: The Masquerade,”
“The fifth edition of Vampire is the culmination of 30 years of creative efforts by White Wolf, its partners, and of course, the passionate global community of players and fans. It’s an experience we expect longtime fans will find engaging, while similarly bringing newcomers into the World of Darkness.”
V5 of the game consists of three main rulebooks, each one in full colour and hardback. There’s the core book, the Anarch sourcebook (due November 2018) and the Camarilla sourcebook (due Novemeber 2018). There’s also dice, a notebook and a storyteller’s screen.
Buying the physical book includes a complimentary copy of the digital edition (could this be a reason why Amazon isn’t in the loop yet?). Translated versions of the book will become available in French, German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish by the winter and there are more languages promised.
